Structuring Behavior Through Spatial Design

Threads is a culturally sensitive wellness and outpatient center in Doha designed for individuals navigating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), specifically contamination OCD and checking OCD, while bringing together families and the wider community through therapeutic, educational, and shared spaces.

The center includes ERP therapy rooms, workshops, and communal spaces that support both treatment and learning. These spaces allow users to engage gradually, move at their own pace, and feel more in control of their experience.

Through order, controlled progression, and clear spatial organization, the design reduces uncertainty and supports users in managing compulsive behaviors while fostering understanding and interaction.

By shaping how people think, feel, and act, Threads positions interior design as an active tool for therapeutic support.

Floor Plan: Organized to guide movement through clear zoning, supporting progression from public to private spaces.

Interactive Technology Area: A calm, accessible space for learning about OCD and workshops without pressure or intimidation.

Pottery Workshop: A space for controlled exposure, using hands-on activity to engage users with materials and shared environments.

Reception Area: A welcoming point of entry designed to provide clarity, orientation, and a sense of comfort.

ERP Therapy Room: A private, controlled space supporting guided exposure and focused theraputic interaction.
