Afkarna is a transitional creative hub designed to support emerging designers as they move from education into professional practice.
Located within a historically significant site, the project draws from the existing architectural language, particularly the historical door extracted from the site, as a symbol of thresholds, pathways, and opportunity.
The design reinterprets these elements into a spatial system that guides users through stages of growth: learning, making, collaborating, and exhibiting. Programmatically, the hub integrates open studios, fabrication labs, mentorship spaces, and exhibition areas, creating a dynamic environment that fosters both independence and community.
By bridging the gap between academia and the creative industry, Afkarna provides access to resources, visibility, and support networks often missing after graduation. It positions design not just as a discipline, but as an evolving journey shaped by movement, interaction, and continuous exploration.
