This project explores the creation of a contemporary Japanese fine dining concept centered around umami as both a sensory and cultural experience. Moving beyond traditional brand identity design, the project positions the designer as a creative director and project manager, developing a full conceptual direction for an immersive restaurant experience.
Through research into Japanese culture, dining rituals, and spatial aesthetics, the project presents two distinct visual and experiential directions: one modern and expressive, and another refined and rooted in tradition. The outcome is an interactive presentation that guides viewers through the restaurant journey—from entrance to dining experience—highlighting design guidelines, atmosphere, and storytelling.
This project emphasizes the role of design in shaping experiences, offering a strategic vision that could be presented to potential investors or collaborators.
